Southwest Capital Bank is a new facility located at the southeast corner of Central Avenue and 15th Street near downtown Albuquerque, NM. The architectural vision of this project leans toward ‘high end residential’ in spirit and detail. Exterior architecture is very important and the owner envisioned a style evolving from the best of the adjacent neighborhood where a number of Mediterranean and Territorial examples can be found.

This new bank does not conform to a ‘standard bank’ model with teller lines and typical bank traffic. Rather, this bank aligns closer with hospitality spaces. The lobby is an elegant reception area like a “great living room” that is impressive and inviting. Carefully selected furniture, rugs, and a grand fireplace are features that make the visitor experience memorable and comfortable. The bank serves as a ‘community’ space where customers come, even if not for specific business, to enjoy a good cup of coffee or a soft drink, read a copy of the latest edition of the Wall Street Journal, or engage in conversation with other customers.

Southwest Capital Bank also features a generous seminar room that accommodates up to 40 people for meetings with guest speakers who will facilitate “roundtable discussions” and present topics ranging from financial investment to viticulture. This space will function as a marvelous social room and will seamlessly flow to exterior terraces that connect the experience of the building to the landscape and the New Mexico sky.
