The Richard R. Barr Building re-defines the new center of the growing Montoya Campus. The new facility features a new Learning Commons area (library) with over 75 computer work stations, book stacks and supervised tutoring facilities which open directly onto a new central main campus plaza with outdoor seating with shading, USB and WiFi connectibility, improved handicapped access and new landscaping for a multitude of events.

The renovated portion of the building was gutted down to the structure: exterior walls, interior columns and roof deck remained. Included in the renovations are two new fully-functional chemistry labs and prep areas with fume hoods, a new dental lab with fully-functioning x-ray machines, dental chairs and a full sterilization room, a new cosmetology lab with 24 salon chairs, a computer classroom, two large and small classrooms, a new faculty office suite and renovated restrooms.
