The vision for this project was to create a benchmark learning and growth campus for the children of Hobbs and a strong community landmark for the City of Hobbs. The challenge was to create a new building that is contextually sensitive, functionally effective, technologically innovative and aesthetically inspiring. The commons is designed as a generous open space connecting the Club’s diverse activities around its perimeter. The Club’s interior pushes the enclosed rooms towards the perimeter thereby freeing the interior from obstructions which enables greater flexibility. Fun lively seating arrangements, gaming tables, dining tables and built-in bancos strengthen this central communal Club space as both destination and connector.
